I’m back with another travelogue! I promised from my earlier post that I will be blogging about some fun in Taiwan, and here it is! We visited 2 theme parks when we were in Taiwan last year (shocking that I’m only blogging about it now… time really flies too fast!) and the first I’ll be blogging about is Janfusun Fancy World (劍湖山世界).
Janfusun is located near the city of Douliu, so from Taichung, we took a 2-hour train ride down to Douliu and switched to a 30-minute bus ride before arriving at the place (more details at the end of the post!)
There are two sections in the theme park – one dry and one wet. So do remember to bring your swim suits there! There’s also a theater and a horror house within the theme park.
The first ride that we took was the Diving Machine G5 built by Swiss manufacturer Bolliger & Mabillard in 2000. It is one of the 3 roller coasters in the theme park. As it was located nearest to the entrance and the ride wasn’t open yet, we queued for quite some time before we get to sit on it.
Left: Diving Machine G5; Right: Theme park
The Diving Machine is not a long coaster, and the most exciting part of the ride would be the drop! With only 2 rows, the ride stopped at the edge for approximately 3 seconds before we were released into an almost-vertical drop. Awesome!
Left: Sky Wheel; Right: Insane Speed
Standing at 88 metres tall, the Sky Wheel is the tallest Ferris wheel in Taiwan with 50 passenger capsules.
I don’t know about you, but I really couldn’t stand rides that made me dizzy – this ride almost made me puke…
I love water rides, though I hate the part getting wet… haha!
This section is for the kids as the rides inside are very mild and there’s an arcade inside as well.
This is the 3rd roller coaster in the theme park and it’s for kids – though adults can take a ride as well.
